Also, we hold a spring Bake and Plant sale held on the same morning as the Neighborhood Yard Sale.

Income from sales are used to/for:

  • support charity through donations (Quilts of Valor, school programs, Oliver Gospel Mission, Women's Shelter, Senior Resources)

  • beautification at Garden Club Park (located in front of tennis courts)

  • Neighborhood “Curb Appeal” program awarded to 2 residents four times per year

  • donation to North Springs Easter Egg Hunt

  • donation to Fourth of July Celebration

  • club committees

Quilts of Valor

The mission of the Quilts of Valor (QOV)
Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

The North Springs Home and Garden Club presents Quilts of Valor to North Springs residents who are Service Members or Veterans.

What is a Quilt of Valor?
A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war.  The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”
To use the term Quilt of Valor, Quilts of Valor or QOV, the quilt must be a specific size, must have a label with required information, it must be awarded (it is not a gift) and it must be recorded in the QOV database.

Curb Appeal Award

Four times a year, April, June, October and December, two homes with exceptional exteriors, including landscaping, are honored with the "Curb Appeal" award. The winners receive a yard sign to display for 3 months, a framed certificate and B.B. Barnes gift cards from the North Springs Home & Garden Club.

The North Springs Home & Garden Winter Curb Appeal Winners are:

Adella Walter of 1000 Cold Branch

and

Gray & Dennis Hansberry of 109 Pine Oak

The Winners were presented with a gift card, framed certificate and a Yard Sign posted in front of their homes.  Two homes are selected quarterly April, June, October and December by different members of the Garden Club based on Curb Appeal.   We have so many beautiful homes in our neighborhood that make the selection process difficult.  Congratulations to our winners.

The Award Criteria is:
1) General Curb Appeal: landscaping is an “eye catcher”
2) Texture: plants with different shapes, leaves, trim, etc.
3) Color: Appealing and coordinating with each other, be it blooms, leaves, bark
4) Care: The turf is mowed, edged and the “beds” are mulched to create a pleasing landscape.
5) December Holiday decor is eye catching, neat and in good taste
6) Has not received the Curb Appeal Award in the last 2 years and is in good standing with NSPOA.
